The Making of the Painting, "Five Black Dresses".

1. First sketched in pencil on canvas, then dark lines painted in and black background.

2. Adding color for hair, put a darker wash on the skin.

3. Starting to work on the skin.

4. Skin and basic hair colors started. Changing background from black. Note that had some dress colors painted.

6. Added details and highlights, put lines in background. See the finished painting and close-up details here.

5. Changed dress colors to black. Finishing background. Working on eyes and hair.
